Introduction
The bar chart illustrates how the percentage of water reserved in reservoirs of six major Australian cities changed between October 2009 and October 2010.
Overview
Overall, during a-year stint, there was a rise in the water level in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Canberra, but a fall was recorded in Darwin; meanwhile, the figure for Brisbane stabilized.
Body paragraph 1
In 2009, the percentage of water stored in reservoirs in Canberra and Sydney was by far the highest of these cities, at 75%, whereas Melbourne had the least figure, at only 25%. In Brisbane, slightly over half (55%) of its reservoir was occupied by water, and the data was respectively 10% and 15% higher than that in Darwin and Perth.
Body paragraph 2
By 2010, while the proportions in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth had experienced a growth, reaching approximately 80%, 40% and 60%, the reservoir in Canberra was almost full in that year. In contrast, the reservoir in Darwin stored less water in 2010, at just below 40%. It is interesting to see that the water level in Brisbane did not change.
