The charts below show the banana export in 1993 and 2003, and a breakdown of the cost to the consumer of each banana in 2003. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Introduction
The bar chart shows the quantity of banana exports from three regions of the world, particularly comparing the export levels of each region in 1993 and 2003. The pie chart focuses on the banana exports of 2003 and presents an analysis of the price that consumers would pay for the bananas they bought in the marketplace.
Overview
Overall, banana exports in these three areas experienced a rise, albeit to widely varying degrees, and distribution retail cost accounted for the largest proportion.
Body paragraph 1
Latin America was by far the largest banana exporting region, trading more metric tonnes than the Far East and Africa combined. While all three regions exported more bananas in 2003 than in 1993, Latin America added the most in absolute terms. A total of about 6.5 million metric tonnes were added to the region’s annual export volume. The figures for the Far East and Africa were 1.9 and 2 million tonnes and 0.3 and 1 million tonnes respectively.
Body paragraph 2
When looking at the cost breakdown of the retail price of bananas, roughly a third was the cost of distribution and retail. Import licenses and international transport costs contributed 10% and 12% respectively. In comparison to these costs, the cost of production represented a mere 5% of the retail value. It must be stated that gross margin in this value analysis was 34% of which nearly half (16% of the retail price) must be paid to the government in tax, leaving a profit margin of 18%.
