The diagram below shows the changes, which took place in a coastal area called Portland from 1950 to 2007. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Introduction
The two maps illustrate how a coastal town, Portland, changed between 1950 and 2007.
Overview
Overall, this town developed into a busy commercial coastal region with a great number of local amenities constructed.
Body paragraph 1
In 1950, Portland was located towards the south of the sea and bisected by a straight main road. On the western side of the road, an industrial area sat in the north where some factories were built, while there was a car park also in the north on the eastern side. Grassland occupied the rest of the area.
Body paragraph 2
Turning to 2007, the sea was transformed into a Yacht Marina, and there was a newly built road along the shoreline, which was linked to the original straight road. The industrial area was replaced by a swimming pool, connecting a park and a multi-storey parking lot respectively whereas flats took the place of the previous car park on the right. In the south east and west part were many shops opened along new roads on both sides. A cinema was erected southernmost part just west of the original road. On the southeast corner of Portland, a number of houses were built.
