For instance, organizing the Olympics or World Cup requires constructing and renovating competition venues and infrastructure, which creates employment opportunities and boosts demand for labor. In addition, international visitors contribute significantly to the host country’s income through expenditure on accommodation, transportation, and souvenirs. Hosting these events can also serve as a platform for presenting and promoting the host country’s unique culture to a global audience, enhancing its status and influence.

On the other hand, some individuals argue that the drawbacks may outweigh the benefits. For example, countries with limited resources may incur a heavy financial burden by allocating significant investments and workforce to build sports facilities, even leading to national debt. Alternatively, redirecting these resources to fields such as education and healthcare could result in better living conditions for the public. Additionally, many stadiums constructed specifically for the event are often left unused after the competition, resulting in significant waste of resources, particularly in regions with lower environmental and social standards.

In conclusion, while hosting international sporting events may offer economic and cultural benefits, I believe that careful consideration should be given to a country’s specific circumstances, especially for those that are less developed. It is crucial to prioritize the welfare of citizens, and any decision to host such events should be made accordingly.
