Introduction
The table gives information about employees from five countries who owned a university qualification in the year 1999.
Overview
Overall, the proportion of employees with tertiary education in Norway was much higher than that in any other country, while the least percentage went to the Netherlands.
Body Paragraph 1
People who received university education in Norway, Germany and France represented 28%, 23% and 21% of all workers of different education levels respectively, while only 18% of employees in Spain were university students, and this figure was about 2.5 times higher than that for the Netherlands. On average, 19.4% of workers received university education in the five nations.
Body Paragraph 2
In terms of the two genders, the average data of female workers who finished their university studies was 20.22% while that of males was 18.82% in these five countries. More specifically, the percentage of females was 24% in France and 21% in Spain, both of which were 6% higher than the figures for their male counterparts. However, both men and women had by far the highest percentage in Norway, at 29.1% and 27.1% respectively. In contrast, more men than women reached the university level in the other two countries, at 25% and 22% for Germany, and less than 10 % in the Netherlands.
