The table below gives information about the CO2 released by five countries that produced the most in 2005 and 2006. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Introduction

The table demonstrates the changes in the amount CO2 released by five countries in 2005 and 2006. There is also information about how many kilograms of this gas were produced by each person in these nations.

Overview

Overall, although the amount of CO2 in America was the highest, this country saw a decrease, while the figures for India and China experienced an opposite trend. 

Body Paragraph 1

In terms of the amount of CO2 emitted per capita, people in the USA had by far the largest figure, with each American generating 19.8kg, and this figure was around 8kg and 10kg higher than that for Russia and Japan. Each Chinese produced 4.8kg of CO2, which was exactly four times as much as that in India.

Body Paragraph 2

From 2005 to 2006, the quantity of CO2 experienced a drop of 15% in the US, from 5,900 million to 5,000 million tonnes. In contrast, the figures for India and China increased by 8% and 7% respectively, from 1,200 million to 1,300 million and 5,600 to 6,000. Interestingly, the amount of CO2 in both Russia and Japan remained stable, at 1,699 million and 1,100 million.
