Introduction
These days, the ways an increasing number of individuals choose to follow current affairs have been altered; they prefer the World Wide Web to newspapers or television programmes. Personally, I completely believe that this is a beneficial trend because it can not only allow readers to acquire information with greater convenience, but also provide them with opportunities to express their own opinions.
Body paragraph 1
The primary reason supporting my stance is people’s easier access to news reports. Almost everyone has a web enabled device, such as smartphones and tablets, with which they are able to know what is happening around the globe regardless of time or location. Thus, there is no necessity for them to squander a cent on purchasing newspapers at a kiosk or to go back home and turn on the television at a particular time.
Body paragraph 2
Another important point I consider is that readers can articulate their ideas about news events. It is common to see that a comment area is created under each news articles where people are encouraged to freely write their individual thoughts about the news coverage, which increases people’s sense of participation. However, it is not likely for them to do the same if they read newspapers or watch news programmes on television.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I reiterate my strong agreement that it is a positive development if people read news online rather than via traditional newspapers and television programmes. For one thing, they can be exposed to world events more conveniently; for another, they can involve themselves in presenting their point of view regarding the news.
