As countries develop, more and more people buy and use their own cars. Do you think the advantages of this trend for individuals outweigh its disadvantages for the environment?

Introduction
Nowadays, a growing number of people can afford to buy and operate a motor vehicle. Personally, I totally concur that the benefits that people enjoy from owning private vehicles prevail over the detrimental influences exerted on the environment.
Body Paragraph 1
The advantages are obvious if people have a car of their own, one of which is that individuals can live a convenient life. Specifically, when they plan to go somewhere far away, it is unnecessary for them to use public transport which takes them a large amount of time, or to spend a lot of money using a cab. Instead, they can drive directly to the destination within a shorter time.
Body Paragraph 2
Another key benefit is that people’s quality of life can be improved. The reason for this is that having no car, they might only spend their weekends in areas adjacent to where they live. However, things can be completely different when they have a car, as they can go much further to view magnificent natural landscape, for example. On the other hand, there are disadvantages to the environment with more cars running on the road. The most severe problem is air pollution. It is a fact that automobiles emit fumes containing toxic chemicals into the air, which causes damage to the air quality.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I strongly agree that mass car ownership results in more advantages for individuals than the downsides for environment. After all, it makes people’s life easier and brings them a better quality of life. Although air pollution is a public concern, this problematic situation has been mitigated largely because fuel-efficient or electric cars, for instance, have been encouraged, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and trees have been planted to purify the air.
