Bài viết mẫu IELTS Writing Task 2 dạng Opinion Essay
Introduction
Scientists and scholars have long researched the behavioural patterns of young children to predict the likelihood of committing crimes in the future. A number of them subscribe to the notion that abnormalities and crimes come from inherited genetic predispositions. In my view, genetics play a marginal role in criminal behaviour and children’s character could be moulded. Thus, proper measures could be carried out to reduce criminality in their adulthood.
Body Paragraph 1
Based on various experiments, scientists build up criminal theories by mapping a person’s genetic code and identifying similarities in personality traits of the delinquents. It can be seen that toddlers with violent behaviour are likely to exhibit criminal tendencies later in life. However, compared with other exterior elements, such as family circumstances and schooling, genetic characteristics seem to be less influential on children’s behaviour. History is replete with examples of misbehaved children reformed by favourable environment and upbringing, demonstrating that the postnatal environment plays a more dominant role in crime prevention.
Body Paragraph 2
Therefore, it is possible to guard against most potential crimes by undertaking an active role in childcare. It is no surprise that children raised in a supportive and educational environment are less likely to offend. For instance, adults could help the young receive ethical education by participating in various activities such as sports clubs and church groups.
Body Paragraph 3
On the contrary, most convicts have minimal parental guidance and attention due to parental divorce or family breakdown. Therefore, early intervention plays an essential role in keeping minors from embarking on a life of crime. The judicial system and law enforcement agencies should make strong legislation against crimes committed by young individuals. The fear of being prosecuted will surely have a deterrent effect in reducing the incidence of criminal activities.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I believe that genetic characteristic is not the primary determinant of criminality. Excellent childcare and early intervention should be emphasized as the real key to combating potential crimes.
