Bài viết mẫu IELTS Writing Task 2 dạng Discussion Essay
Introduction
Many retired people prefer to use their savings and pensions merely to suit their own needs by participating in a wide range of activities, such as taking holidays, instead of making deposits for their offspring. Personally, I strongly believe this is beneficial because it allows the elderly to enjoy their later years and helps their children to be more independent.
Body paragraph 1
The primary reason supporting my stance is that old people can feel happier about their life after retirement. Many elderly people could not do what they expected to do when they were young because of work and family commitments, but now they can achieve their dreams with the money they have saved. For example, while some can take holidays domestically and internationally to taste multifarious cuisines and see splendid scenery in person, others can enrol themselves in a university course to gain a degree. If they saved money for their children, these would not happen.
Body paragraph 2
Another important point I consider relevant is that adult children can be encouraged to be more independent. In some parts of the globe, especially in Asian countries, many old people endeavour to save money to support their children purchasing properties and even to rear their grandchildren, resulting in a fact that their adult children may become too idle to work diligently to achieve success in life and work. In contrast, when financial assistance is withdrawn by their old parents, these adults will feel the pressure to make money.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I completely agree that there are positive outcomes if old people spend money on recreational activities for themselves only, instead of saving up for their adult children. After all, not only can senior citizens be provided with abundant opportunities to do whatever they intend to do, but also their children will learn to be more independent.
