Introduction
International travel no longer seems a luxury for many people these days, thanks to transportation advancement, opening borders and improved life quality. While the positive side of this trend has long been recognized, the potential dangers have also gained global attention in recent decades.
Body paragraph 1
In most cases, this trend is regarded as a symbol of cultural blending, as well as a powerful economic drive. For tourists, seeing other parts of the world and immersing themselves in foreign cultures opens up completely new avenues of discovery, allowing people to enjoy the novelty offered by an exotic culture and become more aware of the larger world outside their home country. In this process, it is not just the adventurous experience that stands out, but also the racial and cultural blending that makes cross border tourism advocated by the world. More importantly, most countries have gained a considerable amount of revenue by attracting international visitors, which is particularly true for developing parts of the world where tourism contributes to a large portion of their annual income. For instance, regions like Maldives, British Virgin Islands and Aruba are well-known for having remarkably strong reliance on travel industry.

However, it has become apparent that international travel can pose great risks to the world, the most worrying of which is environment concern. Uncontrolled tourism presents huge threats to many natural areas around the world, leading to several possible consequences, such as soil erosion, increased emissions, discharges into the sea and natural habitat loss for endangered species. The risks would further grow as tourists seek out ever more remote areas of the globe for new destinations, such as the Antarctic continent. It also needs to be addressed that the rise in global tourism has environmental impacts that go far beyond those popular destinations. In fact, it is no exaggeration to say that tourism is one of the major contributors to despoliation of the world’s environment, particularly as a result of transport, whether by air, sea or on land.
Conclusion
My view is that the inevitable trend of international travel clearly opens doors for travelers and destination countries, but issues regarding environmental damage would need to be more publicized. Hopefully, as public awareness grows, effective measures can be implemented to ensure a sustainable future for global tourism.
