In modern world, it is no longer necessary to use animals for food or use animal products, for instance, clothing and medicines. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Introduction
In contemporary society, it is argued that there is no necessity to use animals to make food, clothes and medicines. Personally, I totally disagree with this idea because of people’s eating habits, the assistance to people in cold areas and animals’ contribution to the medicine field.
Body Paragraph 1
The main reason why I do not believe that it is not necessary for people to consume animal products is that people have formed the habit of eating meat for a long time, which they find it difficult to get rid of. More specifically, human beings in ancient times started to hunt animals to feed themselves, and in modern society, they still regard meat as the main course on the dinner table. Thus, they are not likely to abandon this habit developed for centuries. Meanwhile, meat food contains some nutrients that fruits and vegetables cannot replace. If people do not absorb such elements, their health may be negatively affected.
Body Paragraph 2
Another reason is that clothing made of animal fur is of great importance to people dwelling in severely cold areas to withstand the cold. Although it seems that modern technology can make cold-protective coats without using animals, they may not be comfortable to wear because of the lack of good air-permeability. Fur clothes, however, is not the case.
Body Paragraph 3
The third reason is that scientists need to develop new medicines by conducting animal experiments. Compared with the money spent carrying on scientific research on human beings, the cost of utilising animals is much lower. Meanwhile, some animals are the key ingredients for some particular medicines, and no other artificial products can be the substitute.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I completely disapprove of the viewpoint that it is not essential to take advantage of animals to produce food, manufacture clothes and make drugs. This is because if animals were not used, people would not eat and wear comfortably and benefit from new medicines.
