Most of the world’s problems are caused by over-population. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Introduction
There are those who claim that over-population is the root cause of the majority of issues in the world today. Personally, I totally disagree with this statement because most world-level problems are resulted from other factors, such as ineffective governance and wrong conventional ideas.
Body Paragraph 1
The fact that the government has not effectively made and implemented policies has led to environmental degradation, which is a focus of public concern. Many factories and plants irresponsibly pour untreated water into rivers and emit exhaust gases into the air; thus, people in many places are not able to drink clean water and breathe fresh air, which increases the likelihood of suffering from diarrhea and respiratory diseases. Similarly, the government has not barred people from excessive hunting and even connives poaching, resulting in a plummeting number of some species, and posing a threat to the eco-system.
Body Paragraph 2
Additionally, some unreasonable traditional and modern ideas harboured by people are responsible for serious unbalanced gender ratio and increasing grey population. More specifically, many couples have the cultural preference for boy babies, so they would not stop inducing abortions until they have boys. Gradually, the proportion of boys exceeds that of girls. Meanwhile, many couples choose to delay parenthood, or more and more households which do not expect children have emerged, which damages social productivity and increases the government’s financial burden because the number of senior citizens is more than that of young people.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I believe that both sides of the argument are reasonable. On balance, I strongly believe that over-population is not the reason for most concerns in the world. This is because it is factors such as weak government policies and some ideas that the public hold that should be to blame.
